jaypaix [ˈdʒeɪ.pegs] - The name of the website is derived from my initials J.J. and from "paix", the French word for peace. If you look carefully, you will also find the prefix for the French name of the city of Aix (la Chapelle), which is omnipresent in Aachen. This is fitting, as most of the pictures have a local connection or were at least taken in this area.

My interest in the areas of light, sound and the associated technology led me to the profession of event technician, which in turn led to the production of visuals for parties and concerts.

Part of the production was the experimental production of video material. Through intensive engagement with the camera purchased for this purpose in 2016, a deeper ambition arose, then a fascination and ultimately a passion for photography, which has accompanied me ever since.
